I am looking at the type of dog I want to get when I finally have my own house. My mother won’t let me have a dog at hers and thats where I currently live.
I have been researching alot on the types of dogs I like and a few years ago I came across info on the Norwegian Elkhound. From everything I’ve read they seem like a great dog, but I would like someones opinion that has one.
I have researched alot on the breed at many websites.
I am not a first time dog owner.
In everything I have read it states that while people may call them a stubborn breed they are not. Infact they are called subborn because they need to be given a reason to do something (most of the time the reason can be a treat) After telling them to sit many times even raising your voice, they still will not if they have no reason, or if you have not visually/physically shown them what you mean….Yelling does not work.
Yes I would take to a certified trainer, but I know how to train dogs myself very well.

I haven’t heard anything bad about them.
