My cavalier king charles spaniel is about 10 months old. Over the weekend I had my boyfriend watch her and he has a lab that she likes to play with…Earlier today she was eating a bone and she began to choke on it. A few seconds later she stopped choking but was struggling to breathe. As I was getting dressed to take her to the vet, my boyfriend found a bone lodged in the side of her mouth that he tried to get out… we thought he managed to get it out because she started to breathe normal again and she was acting fine.
Well a couple of hours later I was watching her and she just walked straight into the leg of the coffee table like she didnt see it or something. Then she started to walk into the back where my room was and her tail was down (its normally up and perky!) I decided to go back there and sit on the ground and call her name.. as she walked towards me her back right leg looked as she was dragging it for a couple of steps. This happened twice with her leg. As she was standing straight up her body just kind of started to lean towards the side like she was about to fall over.
I then picked her up and she immediately fell asleep. Shes never acted like this before… So i put her into the kennel for her to lay down and relax..
What should I do?? is this normal?
