I have an almost 3 year old, female, Chinese Shar Pei / Pug mix that I’ve had since last February and an 8 month old, female, American Pit Bull Terrier that I got back in September. She was abused and starved, but is very healthy now.
They love each other so much and play constantly. They jump around, run through the house, and play really rough all day long. Why is it that other people who I know that have 2 or more dogs don’t have problems like this? A lot of my family and friends’ dogs are not as hyper and energetic and they are so calm with one another. What can I do to stop this? Every so often I’ll find tiny spots of blood on them, too. It’s like they are loaded with all of this energy and all that’s on their minds is “Play, play, play!” I know a lot of Pit Bulls are high energy dogs, so I take them to the dog run a few times a week and go on very long walks, hoping to tire them out, but the second we get home they go crazy again.
Will they ever get used to each other? It takes them forever to calm down and I’m so tired of separating them all day long. All I do is yell “No!” or “Stop!” about 100 times a day.
Any help will be appreciated and please no rude comments. Thanks.

Get a spray bottle and every time they carry on spray them in the face and yell NO! I have a hyper Rottweiler and a old Doberman that tries to keep up, but can’t and when she doesn’t let up, that’s what we do.It always seems PLAY & MORE PLAY
