I got a new coton de tulear and I originally had a chiuauaua,But now they start fighting when they’re together! How can I stop them from fighting.
And if you’d like to know my coton only wants to play while my chiuauaua thinks its a threat.

Chihuahuas aren’t usually extremely social dogs with other dogs, but they will tolerate other dogs as long as they don’t bother them. The coton de tulear sounds like a puppy since you say that it only want to play. If this is the case, take the coton de tulear out for longer walks to tire it out so that it doesn’t go home and just bother the chihuahua. Make sure you also spend some alone time with your chihuahua when your coton de tulear is taking a nap or in its crate. Try to find some other puppy friends for the coton so that it can still play with other dogs and socialize. If your coton is still a young puppy (3-5 months old) sign it up for a puppy socialization class. This will teach your dog to learn dog body language and may help your puppy learn when to back off of your chihuahua. For now, never leave the two alone together, and if they do start to fight, call both of them to you, tell them to sit and give them each a treat for coming and sitting. Redirect the behaviour you don’t want and ask for something you do want. As they live together your coton will learn to leave your chihuahua alone, and your chihuahua will learn to tolerate your coton. Just remember not to encourage any fearful behaviour from your chihuahua (i.e. if your coton goes to play with your chi and your chi gets scared and runs to your feet, do not pick up the chi, this encourages your dog to be scared rather than encouraging her to be brave, instead call both dogs again and have both dogs sit, having them do something you want them to do and having them forget the other one is there.)
