I would like to hear from people who own or know about the Newfoundland breed charachteristics. Are they protective, how are they with other pets, family etc? What’s good about em, bad about em?

I’m not an owner but I know a lot about breeds. Newfoundlands are great family dogs. They’re very good around children and they are protective. They’re gentle giants that need exercise. The only bad thing is the drooling and having small animals such as cats may not be the best idea, yet some may be fine around smaller animals. All in all, they’re great dogs to have in the family or just as a companion.
