I have had my cat for 12 years and about 6 months ago i got a 6 month old english foxhound. He was fine with the cat and when the cat walked by him he would move away letting the cat pass freely. But, last wednesday i got another dog from the pound a 5 month old German Shepherd since she has been here my other dog has been attacking the cat. They are nipping at him and circling him and he has no way to protect himself when they are both going at him at the same time? So my question is why did my other dog start acting this way and what can i do to stop it????

Usually when animals do this they are pretty much jealous. If a cat and dog don’t grow up together they usualy don’t get along. Our dog pretty much grew up with our cats and he just likes to play around with them. All I can tell you is make him stop or you might have to give the dog up if he’s being mean to your cat. He might just be trying to play with him but if he’s actually being mean then make him stop or give him up.
